Hanging at the Hanger

The last Hanging at the Hangar for 2017 will be held Thursday, October 12th from 5:30 to 8:30 at Bolton Field.  This is a potluck dinner so we hope you will bring your favorite side dish, salad or dessert and your favorite summer aviation stories to share.  As they have done for all the hangar events, Columbus Jet will be providing beverages and the event will be held in the Columbus Jet maintenance hangar space.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ryan Maxfield, President of Columbus Jet and his staff for their terrific support and assistance with this event.  It could not have been done without them.  I owe a big thank you to Joe Brattain, line service manager, for setting up and breaking down the tables and chairs for every event.  Sherry Wolhaupter, customer service, for making sure we had beverages and Larry Glen, maintenance manager, not only for all their help, but for giving of their time to attend the events.  Certainly, this was above and beyond their job duties.  I take Ryan’s, Joe’s, Sherry’s and Larry’s enthusiasm as a sign of good things to come with Columbus Jet at Bolton Field.

There is another opportunity to eat well at Bolton Field.  JP’s Barbeque is having a 25 year celebration on Sunday, October 29 from 1:00 to 4:00.  There will be food, music, and prizes.  Free for pilots who fly into Bolton for the celebration.  The youngest pilot, oldest pilot and pilot who flew the furthest have an opportunity to win a $25 fuel gift certificate.

Just one last note.  I did create a Facebook page called Bolton Flyers for posting events, getting friends together to fly, sharing information, buying or selling planes or parts, and so on.  I am hoping it will become the main communication tool for us to keep in touch.  I will ask you where you are based although pilots not based at TZR are welcome. Non-pilots are also welcome, just let me know why you want to join.

Thank you and have a great day,

Darlene Ford
